Windchill Document Management


PharmTech developed an effective means to author and review validation documents.  The challenge of the project was that the authors were in Illinois, the subject matter experts were in Massachusetts, the equipment was in Puerto Rico, and the reviewers were scattered across the globe.  PharmTech implemented a web-based system that could be accessed from inside and outside the company’s firewall that allowed for documents to be stored in a centralized location, and then custom generated workflows to manage the review cycle.

  1. Before the Windchill system was installed, reviews were either on paper, or through email.  The project had geograhical constraints, so the cost in time and/or postage was unmanageable.  Email provided other inefficiencies, including preventing multiple updates simultaineiously and probable versioning issues.  The Windchill system provided a fast, available, automatic workflow system, saving time, money, and hardship.
