Trace Matrix Generator


Trace Matrix is a document that correlates two documents that require a many to many relationship to determine completeness.  These traceability matricies often must be created by hand and determined through human intervention.  PharmTech developed a methodology to standardize template formats to allow for the auto-generation of a trace matrix from design and testing documents.  The application prompted users with testing that was missing as well as highlight orphaned tests and requirements.  The application allowed for the tracing to be done real-time during document development, and allowed for less rework during approval.
 

Value Gains

  1. Used to create the traceabiilty matricies for fifty document sets. 
  2. Allowed trace matrx generation to be reduced from 40 hours to 4 hours per document set by limiting human intervention in the creation process.
