Complaint Trending

 

PharmTech worked with a device manufacturer to update their application that trends the complaint data, pulling information from SAP into Excel for graphing and analysis. PharmTech embarked on totally revamping the application to redesigning the interface, improving performance, and reduce the scope of validation.

Metrics

1. Reduced validation scope from 100,000 cell reviews to code review (formulas were autopopulated).
2. Reduced size from 70MB to 2MB (pivot tables, graphs were now reporting options, generated as needed).
3. Report generation could be done in seconds instead of minutes (previously, updates to a cell triggered a cascade effect as all other cells were checked for impact).
